Proofread work

 Hi Bloggers,

At the moment we have been learning proofreading. So I have re-posted my Sina & the Eel slides because we have proofread them. We were looking for things like punctuation, spelling and using is instead of was or vice versa. We checked it ourselves, a friend checked it, the teacher checked it and then we checked it again. So... Enjoy viewing the updated story of Sina and... the eel. Dun, dun, dun!

If you've been following my blog you will have seen me post S.L.J posts from last year. This post was a challenge that we had to do where we had to colour in a famous painting and then change one of the original colours. I used an app called Art Colouring book, which was great fun and I recommend it.

Hi Bloggers,

This post is about Sina and the Eel, which is a myth story from Samoa. I found it fun😄 because We got to do lots of descriptive writing 🖊️which I am pretty good at. What I found difficult was drawing🖍️ the picture on google docs, so sorry if it is bad. I enjoyed drawing Sina because I like drawing girls🙋🏾‍♀️.

                         

Duffy and the... Coggen?

 Today we saw a fantastic show. I think it was more aimed at little kids 👭 though it was still funny.😂

It was about Duffy meeting a Coggen (🐱-🐶-🐓) that belonged to his friend Bex. My favourite character was a guy who played the Coggen and Bex's dad. This is because when we came in he played cool songs on the guitar🎸 but also because he was a good actor/puppeteer. It was fun when they sung🎶 the Duffy song because they did it in sign language too.✋

This was only my second time going and it was amazing! We got to go because some people took on leadership roles (like me). I did wet day monitors🌧️, road patrols🚙 and librarians📗 at some point this year.

It was really awesome because we got to do whatever we liked. We were sooo exhausted when we got back to school, but if you're a year five who'll be going next year, it's the BEST😄 thing ever.

Media is a way of communicating or finding new information for entertainment or to encourage us to do something. That is the definition of media that Ako Hiko kids came up with.

Weaving

 

This week we have been doing some awesome weaving!

I chose a really tricky pattern and at first I was annoyed because I couldn't do it. I was frustrated and I was in the yellow zone. Then, I got used to the pattern and I was in the green zone. After I started it was easy and I figured it out. It just started flowing. 

It was fun!

In the Beginning...

 THIS IS MY IN THE BEGINNING STORY. WE DID A LOT OF ACTIVITIES FOR THIS, MY FAVOURITE WAS TELLING IT IN THE SLIDES. WE ALSO TOLD IT, DID PLAYS E.T.C...

I WAS THE NARRATOR IN THE PLAY, MEANING I TOLD THE STORY. IN MY GROUP THERE WAS MYIAH, MYKAYLA, CARLOS, AMY, TEDDY, TED AND ME. 

Sell-a-game!

 This is my Maths Sell-a-game. The aim was to advertise one of the digital games we have been doing at school. The fun part for me was making the writing sound like the writing on actual ads. The hard part was to make the poster look effective. I really enjoyed this task because it was really cool to make the poster and words advertise the game.

Then, we did our final copy.

This is my video made on Screencastify, and it is a video saying what to do if something bad happens online. It is a really good tutorial. Lila, Niamh and I made it. It was fun to make and first we wrote a script.

I used voice recorder to put in some audio. It was really fun to make. 

I found voice recorder fun and easy to use.

This is my presentation on Water for Everyone. I found it quite sad reading about it. I found out that only one percent of the world's water is available.

Crazy paper art

 

This is some crazy marbled wrapping paper that I made. Here is how you make it - 

You'll need -

Shaving cream

Up to five colours of food colouring

A large tray

A piece of paper that can fit in your tray

Method - 

Spread shaving cream around the tray. Then, put drops of food colouring everywhere. Spread it around with a fork. Place your paper on top of the coloured shaving cream, and push it down. Let it sit for 30 seconds. Then peel it off. Scrape the shaving cream off and you're left with awesome paper.

Sick sentences

 The astronaut wore a suit. It was uncomfortable and warm. The astronaut walked on Mars.

The sweltering astronaut wore a tall, stuffy suit. Inside, it was horribly uncomfortable, humid and stressful. Putting one foot in front of another, she sighed as she stepped onto solid ground. 'Mars' she thought, and breathed an enormous breath.

Wordsmiths

A wordsmith is a word game where you get random words and make a nonsense story out of them. I did 2 more as well as other writing. 

P.S for maths I have been doing worksheets.

3 little pigs writing

I also wrote the little pigs in my own words, and then made a play script of it. 

This is the Haiku I wrote.

First I wrote the word, then I thought of easy words to rhyme, and started writing. It was hard to make it rhyme.
