Get to know you ponder

Hmmmmmm...
I would probably go to a Pacific Island and probably go to one like Vanuatu.
Why, because some people we know have been there and said that it is amazing!
I love snorkeling and it would be a great place to do that!
Here is a picture:

I would take my friends and family and dog!
Can you see why I want to go here? Just look at it!
Where would you go?
Who would you take?

Oh the places you'll go!

Hi,
The theme at Owairaka this year is exploring so we did an art project inspired by the book "Oh the places you'll go!" by Doctor Seuss
These are the steps that we made these in:

  1.  Choose an image of a landmark
  2. Remove its background using remove.bg
  3. Create a dye background
  4. Design, colour and cut out your balloons
  5. Put it all together.
My favourite part was making the background!
Here's a tip: Use cold colours for balloons and hot colours for the background or the other way round. It makes the balloons stand out!
What landmark do you want to visit?

Explorer ponder #4

I am going to choose the word quivering.
Quivering, the ground trembled and students ducked under tables clinging on to the legs with all their strength.

What word would you use to describe this moment?

Kaitiakitanga

Hi!
I am going to show kaitiakitanga by following the three r's (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) as well as refuse.
I am going to do this because the world would be a better place without rubbish!

Howick Historical Village Trip

Hey!
It's me Franny!
So here's what happened when we went to...
Howick Historical Village!
We did three activities the first was old fashioned games. The second was a communication workshop and finally we went to school.
When they said that the first activity we would do was sports I got really disappointed. I do not like sports!!): But when we got there it was fun things like skipping, stilts and hoop and skimmer- Which was very hard.(: Pheeeeew
The communications workshop was fun and we did things like decoding Braille, semaphore and Morse code. Before anything some one told us that girls were supposed to communicate beauty and boys were supposed to communicate strength (They were supposed to carry a pig a day for their wives) eeew.
The last was my favourite: The schoolhouse. You may be thinking "What? You have to go to school on a school trip?" But no the schoolhouse was where we learnt about old fashioned schools. We had slates and crayons. Back then the older kids teach the youngest. Two children got the fake cane. One for stealing an apple and one for tearing his pants.

Then there was a walk around!
The schoolhouse was my favourite!
What would be yours?

Which of your family lives in your house?

Answer one of the questions in a comment!

Garden to Table!!!!!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
That's what garden to table makes me say! This week we had a superb meal of curry, naan, salad and carrot cakes.

Biting into one of the carrot cakes was warm and squishy. They were my favourite. The curry was awesome because it was full of flavor. The naan was plain but tasted like fresh bread, actually better! The salad was fresh and cold.  I hope I'm not making you hungry!

I was in the garden and we sorted and cleaned the shed. The boys did weeding. It was hard work and fun!!!
Do you do garden to table?
