Cultural unity day

Today was cultural unity day I was Maori.
I have liked it so far.
Hamida taught us a Samoan game called Lape.
Luca's dad told us a Romanian story about a fox who outsmarted a bear. Then we had shared lunch from many different cultures. It was delicious. I love cultural unity day!

Wonder week 5

This week I made a valentines necklace and  a bag made of floppy disks.
I found making disks look like bag hard.
A tip from me would be to use shapes as different objects.
I love the book so far.

Wonder week 4

This week I made an invitation to Savaanas Halloween party. I liked doing this because I could test out new fonts and pictures. A tip from me would be to pretend you were the person that's party it is. I like the book so far because Jack is a super nice person.

Vector visit

This week a woman who worked for Vector came to our school and taught us about electricity.

They were at our school so they could get the message out about saving electricity.

Here are four facts I learnt:

• Electricity can be made in many different ways.
• Water goes gushing down and spins something which sends momentum up the  wire and onto the power.
• Fossil fuels create smoke that spreads over Earth and makes it warm which is one of the causes for global warming.
• If you get an electric car and solar power you can save solar energy with a giant battery but if there is no sun you can use electricity which costs three dollars and petrol costs one hundred dollars so all in all its a great deal!

Here's a tip from me:
don't use up to much electricity!

Wonder week 3

This week I made a New York subway out of paper.I found making everything out of paper hard because it was quite flimsy.A tip from me is to try and get everything evenly on the box I did this with Saana and Matilda.I love wonder so far.

Coordinates

This was my mathematics  coordinates activity and I made my own graph and did the others.I found deciding on where things should go on my graph difficult but a helpful tip from me would be to space the out evenly.Have you ever tried doing something like this?

Wonder week 2

This week my activity was doing a poster about choosing kind which is one of August's teachers monthly precepts which are like sayings.
I liked doing this because it has a good message.
If you were doing this I would suggest putting some kind of entertainment like some pictures and a video.
I really enjoyed the book so far because it is interesting to hear from a different point of view.
